Sippin' on a Budget: Educated Guess 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

Welcome to episode 5!

All posts and reviews of wine are broken down in plain language for any new wine drinker to understand. This wine community is open to anyone over 21 years old, as well as anybody who wants to explore the world of wine.

All reviews and opinions are solely my own and do not reflect any other organization.

I wholeheartedly believe we can break this notion that wine is for only "certain people".

You know the people I'm talking about; "wine snobs", "bougie", "high class"- the list can go on and on. We are not here to label or make fun of others; but rather, to open the unique world of wine to everyone.

I believe Wine Culture can be for anyone who likes wine - your background, lifestyle, and how much you make does not matter here- all are welcome!

So let's get started! Come sip with me!

Educated Guess

2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

Roots Run Deep Winery

Centered is a brown colored glass bottle with a black paper label. On the black label is a math equation, text is white; under the math equation is text in orange color "Educated Guess"; white text "Napa County, Cabernet Sauvignon", orange colored text "2021". To the left is a glass decanter with red purple wine. In the background there is a green umberlla tree.

Today we will discuss this wine's overall profile, which includes the following:

  • This wine's Style, Varietal, and Type

  • This wine's smell and taste Profile

  • & Where to buy this wine so you can taste it yourself.

This wine is a dry-red Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is 14.5%. When I smell this wine it smells earthy, like fresh rain on the ground, mixed with black licorice. The secondary profile smell is similar to pepper, oak, vanilla and warm spices. For those of you who love the peppery tannins, it may make your mouth water with anticipation.

And boy does smell like it tastes! It is a full bodied dry red wine. You can taste a buttery taste with your first sip. Afterwards, it transforms into warm earthy tobacco and nutmeg; finishing your taste with oak and peppery tannins.

This Cab Sauv is made by Roots Run Deep Winery from Napa County and was recently rated at 91 points from the Wine Enthusiast's website as it is highly recommended. Additionally it has been ranked as #1 Selling Napa Cabernet under $50. I personally called it The Best Bang for your buck wine and as you know me, that is a major compliment being that my first choice of wine is not a Cab Sauv by any means. However, I love this wine and can truly tell these wine makers put love and passion in their wines. For more information, I suggest you follow Roots Run Deep Winery's Instagram page. Truly, I can see myself pairing this red wine with a peppery steak, buttery fingerling potatoes and fresh steamed broccoli.

If you like a full bodied red wine, this is a must try. It can be purchased at your local SaveMart, Target, BevMo, Rite-Aid or Walmart. I purchased this bottle for $27 and have seen it for sale as low as $22. This qualifies under my Sippin' on a Budget Category and makes a great wine to share with others.

You need to try this wine soon!
